“Immersive, augmented technologies (XR) and spatial computing haven’t met their public yet in #Switzerland. Decision-makers are not fully informed about the power of these technologies.” – me 😉
We at SSVAR are trying to change that. We connect the dots, we share the knowledge, make demos of the hardware and present business cases or concrete applications since end of 2016.
This year our first event was dedicated to “Spatial computing and Mixed Reality”.
We got the chance to have for the first time a public participation of Magic Leap thanks to Nicolas Abelé ( Laureate of the 2005 European Award for Innovation and involved in several European Projects, aimed at MEMS innovation, serving as work-package leader. Holding 50+ patent families in the fields of Display architecture, AR, MEMS, De-speckle, Electronics, Optics9 and actual Director, Hardware Development at Magic Leap .
The event started by my presentation:
“Lauching the first ICAV (Innovation Center of Advanced Virtuality” which is a shared workspace to research and develop Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality + #AI+#ML technology, applications and projects with lot of services for startups and researchers!
Co-working/Hardware renting/Testing services/Training and more! Opening in Satigny (close to #CERN, #Geneva) with our partner SpookLight Studio.

After that, Florian Co-founder a very creative startup in mixed reality and spatial computing talked about : “Spatial Computing for dummies” making the public traveled through the state of “extended realities”.
Nicolas Abele’s presentation of Magic Leap was just stunning! The spatial computing is here to stay and Magic Leap has the power to change the future of the computers!
Then came the time for the online fireside chats with our renowned speakers:

Florian with a great maestria, made the interview with Robert who enlightened the audience with his precious answers!
Then came the turn of Cathy… brilliant and vibrant talk!
Micheal Reed captured after, the attendees attention with the presentation of his very powerful and promising platform PracticalVR with a live demo using Hololens!
Then came the time for Tomas Sluka CEO of CREAL3D presenting his invention (must see!!): a revolutionary display for XR technology! Never seen such advanced display!
Jean-Baptiste Creton (a great seller!) coming after, talked about the incredible solution of his actual company IMVERSE: LiveMaker a software which allows you to create yourself 3D models from single 2D photos.
