Tripwire Interactive’s Killing Floor: Incursion launched on the Oculus Rift earlier this year, much to the delight of all those brave enough to play it. But the terror isn’t done; free content is on the way.
The developer today announced that it will be at Oculus Connect 4 this week with a demo of its new mode, Holdout, which will be releasing for free later this year. As the name suggests, the mode will drop you into a random location in one of the game’s maps and then task you with surviving against incoming hordes of enemies. They’ll also have to scavange weapons, starting out with only a pistol and a knife.
No specific date was given for the update, though Tripwire is planning on bringing Incursion over to the HTC Vive before the end of the year too. Perhaps there could be a simultaneous release?
If you’re going to Oculus Connect 4 there’s more Killing Floor to be had, too. The game’s developers will be on-hand during a session entitled ‘Killing Floor to Shattered Ceilings: Leveraging Established IP to Break Into VR’ tomorrow at 5pm PT.
We’ll be at Oculus Connect 4, so expect plenty more updates in the days to come.
