HTC Unboxes Vive Focus: Here’s What You Get

2018 might be all about the Vive Pro for HTC in the west but, over in China, the company has just launched its first standalone VR headset, the Vive Focus. Here’s what you get inside the box.

Alvin Wang Graylin, President of Vive in China, recently posted an unboxing of the new all-in-one device on Twitter. The package includes the device itself (obviously), along with a three degrees of freedom (3DOG) controller, charging cable for the headset and batteries (which look like they could be for the controller) along with a manual and download code for launch content on Viveport, HTC’s digital store.

As a standalone headset, Vive Focus includes all you need to jump into VR as soon as you open the box. The kit uses an inside-out tracking system to allow you to move your head through virtual space

Sadly, there’s no word on if and when the Vive Focus will come to the US and Europe. HTC was originally meant to be bringing a standalone headset to these countries with the help of Google and its Daydream platform, but that’s no longer the case.
