My Country Is An ARKit-Powered City Building Game

My Country Is An ARKit-Powered City Building Game

The city builder genre of games have been popular for decades, starting out on PC primarily with the likes of Sim City and other similar games. Recently they’ve  found a bit of a resurgence on mobile devices and titles from Game Insight like Paradise Island are great examples of that fact. Today, the mobile game developer has announced that My Country is getting an AR adaptation powered by ARKit for iOS 11 devices such as iPhones and iPads.

You’ll be able to hold out your device and point it down at a tabletop to see your city rise up and expand in real-time as if you were building an entire country of your very own like never before. You can get an idea of what the game looks like in action in the trailer below:

“ARKit has enabled us to create experiences within My Country that blur the line between the player’s world and their creation. This has always been the nirvana of city building games, and we’re ecstatic to help players feel like a real part of their cities,” said Anatoly Ropotov, CEO of Game Insight, in a prepared statement. “The addition of an AR game to the My Country franchise takes simulation to a new level.  Beyond simply running around cities playing games, players can now create and nurture their very own cities while bringing them alive in their own environments.”

My Country AR is available now for iPhones and iPad from the Apple App Store.
