Brass Tactics (2018), the VR real-time strategy game for Rift from Hidden Path Entertainment, is getting an open access weekend starting tomorrow, March 29th. Kicking off Oculus’ two-year celebration of the Rift headset, Oculus is also throwing out the chance to win special prizes.
While there is a free version of Brass Tactics, called Brass Tactics Arena (2018), which includes a few maps and a single AI to battle, the entire game is opening up to Rift owners this weekend starting March 29th and ending on April 2nd.
Brass Tactics is a node-based RTS that comes with a bit of a pedigree. Created by Hidden Path Entertainment, the minds behind the Defense Gridfranchise and Age of Empires II, the full version includes 20 maps, campaign mode, and 3 AI to play against. The main villain, Zavolto, is voiced by Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen, known for his role as Lord Petyr Baelish, (aka ‘Little Finger’). Check out why we gave it a sturdy [7.5/10] in our review.
In honor of the Rift’s two-year anniversary, Oculus is also throwing out the chance to win prizes in the first ‘Rift Gold Rush’ raffle that’s pulling from a $28,000 prize pool including Oculus Store credit, a new PC, and even a chance to win a ‘Golden Account’, which gives one lucky Rifter an account with 100 free games.
To enter, simply play a multiplayer game on March 31st between 1PM and 2 PM PT (local starting time here).
