VR Horror Organ Quarter Gets Release Date, New Trailer

Halloween is right around the corner and the spooky VR experiences are lining up for your attention. One that looks worth the wait is Organ Quarter from Outer Brain Studios.

We first reported on this intriguing horror game, which mixes inspirations like Resident Evil and the work of David Lynch, back in February. Back then the developer managed to raise a small amount of funds to help finish the project off over on Kickstarter. Eight months on and Organ Quarter is ready for release on October 17th with support for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. You can check out the latest trailer for the game below.

In Organ Quarter you explore a large urban landscape, not too dissimilar from the titular town of iconic horror series, Silent Hill. You’ll encounter nightmarish creatures that haunt your psyche, which you can fend off with weapons. The game hones in on classic elements of the survival horror genre, giving players limited ammunition, for example.

Sadly, there’s no plans for a PSVR version at this point in time due to the technical constraints of the platform, but you can expect room scale and motion control support on PC.

If you’re interested in the game then don’t miss the pre-alpha demo that launched on Steam earlier this year.

Check back closer to Organ Quarter’s release for more on the game.
