Zone of the Ender 2’s VR Port Hits Japan In September

It looks like we’re a little bit closer to playing Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner in VR.

During last year’s Tokyo Game Show publisher Konami confirmed that it was bringing its cult-classic mech battler to both PlayStation 4 and PC with option VR support on both platforms. A western launch for the port hasn’t been officially announced just yet, but this week’s issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu confirms (via Gematsu) that it will arrive in Japan this September. Hopefully that means a western version of the game isn’t too far behind.

The VR support for the game should let players pilot the legendary Jehuty in VR for the first time. The game is something on an obscure gem with a passionate fanbase, so getting a VR version is definitely a win for the industry. Of course, if you’re able to read Japanese then you could always import the PS4 version of the game (assuming it gets a physical release).
